Hello ladies!

I am back with my review on a recent purchase - Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Face wash – Lemon. After about 15 days of using this product, I believe the time has come to share my experience and thoughts with my dear readers.

But before I begin, let me tell you that wandering through supermarkets pays off handsomely, especially when you find beauty products that you instantly like. This is exactly what happened to me when I discovered Himalaya's newly launched Fresh Start Oil Clear face washes.

The new Himalaya Fresh Start face washes are available in four variants - lemon, peach, strawberry and blueberry. All four varieties have bright and visually appealing packaging, which makes them quite lucrative to purchase. However, I finally chose the lemon face wash, after spending nearly 10 minutes in front of these four options. I will try the other variants in the near future and let you know about them.

About Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Lemon Face wash

Let's start with the product's external features. As seen in the picture above, Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Lemon Face wash comes in a bright yellow plastic tube packaging with a half lemon and green leaf print on the front half. The other half of the tube is transparent, which allows you to see the yellow-beaded face wash inside. Besides the name of the product, ‘Goodbye oily skin! Hello, fresh face!’ and 'with natural beads’ are also prominently displayed on the tube.

On reversing the tube, you get to see 3 sections ‘Who am I', ‘What do I do’, and ‘Feel happy using me’. These tell you more about the product and its use. Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Lemon Face Wash is specially formulated to get rid of excess oils, impurities and dirt through its exclusive combination of lemon, gooseberry and natural beads. Furthermore, the brand claims that this dermatologically tested product helps you kick start your day with a fresh, confident and oil-free look.

My Review

Unlike most Himalaya personal care products, which come in their standard green and white color scheme, these Himalaya Fresh Start Face Washes were a pleasant surprise. I loved their striking, bright and distinct colors, a reason why I feel they deserve a plus point for their packaging alone.

Moving forward, on squeezing the tube of Himalaya Oil Clear Lemon Face Wash, you get to see a yellowish gel-type face wash with visible white and dark beads in it. These natural beads help in deep cleansing the facial skin by removing excess oil, dirt and impurities from them. Regarding its smell, Himalaya Fresh Start Oil Clear Lemon Face Wash has a citrusy and very likeable fragrance (similar to that of a raw lemon). This lovely lemony smell, however, does not last long.

I have a combination skin type and have been using this face wash twice a day as directed. I generally use a pea-sized amount of this face wash to clean my face and neck area. The lather produced while cleansing my face is not much, but not less either. It is just about enough. While washing my face, I also noticed the rubbing action of beads against my skin. I could literally feel them. Post the wash, my skin felt squeaky clean, soft and refreshed. I also noticed that my skin looked a bit brighter and had a natural glow to it.

Thankfully, my skin has not felt stretchy or dry after using this product. However, to be on the safe side I always apply a gentle moisturizer. Again, I don't apply makeup on a daily basis. Now and then, whenever I have used light makeup, this face wash has been successful in cleansing my face clean.

However, there are two things, I'd like to bring to your attention. The first is the ingredient list, which shows a number of chemicals or chemical based components used in the product. A long look at it reveals that this natural herbal formulation does not contain harmful chemicals, but it is also not entirely natural. Secondly, this face wash is oil clear. This means that this product would be ideal for people with oily or combination skin. Contrastingly, if you have dry or very dry skin, then your skin might dry out further and not receive the needed moisturization.

Nevertheless, I am mighty pleased with this product. It is a travel-friendly tube and is reasonably priced (Rs. 145/- for 100 ml and Rs. 75/- for 50 ml). It also smells nice and cleans the face and neck well from everyday dirt, pollution and oil, which is definitely good enough. Meanwhile, if you plan to buy it, then click this Amazon buying link.

My Ratings

It would give it 4.2/5 👍. You can certainly give it a try.
