Be it summer, winter or rains, the harsh everyday weather conditions, heat and humidity are the usual culprits of dry and chapped lips. And how do you tackle it? By licking it. Isn't it?
If yes, then you need to stop immediately. Frequently licking your lips, strips the moisture from its delicate skin and worsens the problem of dryness. This is the reason why I always have a lip balm at go. Be it in my handbag when I go outdoors or at a dressing table at my home. And mind you, the couple of lip balms that I own, have really distinct and deliciously awesome fragrance.
Today, buying a lip balm is also quite convenient. We are spoilt for choice with the many brands and lip balm flavors that are available in the market. However, if you are doubtful of the added ingredients like alcohol, parabens, sulfates, acids and needless chemicals present in store-bought lip moisturizers, then I highly suggest you make your own lip balm.
Believe me, making a lip balm at home is really great fun. It is surprisingly quite easy and would take less than 10 minutes to make a few small containers/tubes of your favorite lip balm. All you need is a few basic ingredients like beeswax, any carrier oil (like coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, castor oil, sunflower oil), flavorsome essential oil and you are good to start. And if you make them in excess, you can also turn it into a fabulous gift item for your near and dear ones.
So, why wait...let's begin with 5 surprisingly simple and affordable DIY natural lip balm recipes.
